The 2012 awardees of the ACR International Outstanding Leadership Award spoke about their successes and experiences at ACR’s International Day, the premier networking event for conflict resolution professionals with a global focus. Lada Busevac, individual awardee, spoke about her work with the International Finance Corporation to develop mediation programs to address conflicts that arise in financing intenational development projects. Jamie Walker, representing MiKK, the organizational awardee, spoke about mediation of cross-border family disputes, including child abductions. The 2012 International Day themes also included managing conflict around environmental concerns. Speakers from several countries spoke about their work in Ecuador, Argentina and Panama. International Day, which took place on September 12, 2012, was part of the Association for Conflict Resolution’s 12th Annual Conference, “Creating Connections: Conflict Resolution in Deeply Divided Times.” The conference was held at the Sheraton New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 12-15, 2012.
